The Clock trigger allows you to run a workflow automatically at a particular date or time.
To set Clock as a trigger, double-click on the start icon and look for Clock trigger in the Trigger window. You can also search the Clock trigger by entering the keyword Clock in the search bar.
Now, click the Clock trigger and select any event of your choice that you want to set as a trigger from the Trigger Type dropdown options. Let us have a look at the various Clock events that you can set as a trigger.
Once: When you set Once as a trigger, Built.io Flow will run the associated workflow automatically at the specified date and time. To set this as a trigger, enter the date and time at which you want to run the workflow. Then, select the timezone of your choice. Once you are done with entering these details, save the trigger, and click on DONE to return to your workflow canvas. This will execute the workflow on the specified date and time.
Repeat: This option allows you to trigger the given workflow at defined intervals. It allows you to control when and how often a workflow would run, thereby giving you the flexibility to completely automate your workflow even when you are not around. To set this as a trigger, select a time interval under the Runs on every field. You can define the interval in minutes, hours, days, months or years. It is important to note that this is a recurring event. So, for instance, if you select 15 Minutes, the workflow would run at every 15 minutes from the time you save your workflow.
Repeat From: This option is the same as the Repeat option explained above with a minor difference. It allows you to specify a start date and time, after which it will run at defined intervals.
Repeat From To: This option lets you set up a trigger that runs at defined intervals within a specified date and time range.
Daily: This option is the same as the Repeat From option explained above with a minor difference. This trigger runs on a daily basis for a specific time period at definite intervals.
Weekly: This option allows you to specify the day(s) of the week on which the Clock trigger should execute the workflow. You just need to select the day(s), i.e. from Sunday to Saturday, specify the start and end time, and select the trigger interval. After this, click DONE. This will trigger the workflow on the specified day(s) of the week at defined intervals during the specified timeframe.
Monthly: This option lets you automatically execute the workflow on the first, fifteenth, or last day of the month You just need to select the day of the month, specify the time range, and select the time interval for the trigger. Once you specify the details, click DONE. Now the trigger will execute the workflow on the specified day of the month at defined intervals for the specified time period.
