How to edit or delete a trigger

Triggers saved for your workflows in your Built.io Flow account can be edited and deleted from canvas as well from the 'Settings' page. The steps to edit and delete a trigger are given below:

Step 1. Editing and deleting a trigger from canvas

1. Editing a trigger from canvas

Log in to your Built.io Flow account, and open the workflow of which trigger you wish to edit. Double click on the ‘Start’ icon (which now has the icon of the service used as a trigger). You will see the list of all triggers of your account that are associated with the service.

You will see the ‘Edit’ icon given against the trigger that is being used in the workflow. When you click on it, it will open up the trigger configuration window where you can make your changes. Once you have made the changes, click on 'Save'.

2. Deleting a trigger from canvas

It is also possible to delete a trigger only from the workflow in which it is currently being used, and not from your Built.io Flow account. To do this, follow the instructions given below:

1. Log in to your Built.io Flow account and select the workflow from which you wish to delete the trigger.

You will see two options; 'Edit' and 'Delete'.

1. Editing a trigger

If you click on the Edit option, you will see the configuration window for that particular trigger where you can modify the trigger details.

Once you have updated the details, click on 'Save'. This will update your trigger configuration settings.

2. Deleting the trigger

If you click on the Delete option, Built.io Flow will prompt you to confirm the action.

Click on 'Delete' to delete the trigger.

In case the trigger that you are trying to delete is being used in any workflow(s), you will need to remove it from the workflow(s) first before being able to delete it. In such a case, Built.io Flow will provide you the links of workflows in which it is being used. You need to simply click on those links to access the workflows from where you can remov the trigger.

Once you have made the changes in the workflow, and saved it, the trigger will be automatically deleted from your Built.io Flow account.

While setting up a trigger, you also need to consider the total number of active triggers of your Built.io Flow account. Each subscription plan has a certain limit on the number of active triggers one can set. When a user reaches this limit and still needs to create/use a new trigger, he/she will have to delete one of the existing triggers from his Built.io Flow account.

For example, a user with a trial plan can have maximum of two active triggers. If he wishes to create/use a third trigger, he will need to delete one of his existing triggers before creating a new one.
